IAF strikes Gaza City weapons storage facility
23.03.2010, Israel The Israel Air Force successfully bombed a Gaza City weapons storage facility overnight Monday, the IDF Spokesperson announced Tuesday morning.
"The attack is in response to the recent firing of rockets at Israel's southern communities over the past few days," the IDF said.
Ten rockets launched from the Gaza Strip have struck Israel over the past five days, killing a Thai migrant worker.
Gaza Strip militants have fired 330 rockets into Israel since the end of Operation Cast Lead, 35 of them in 2010.
"The IDF will not tolerate any attempt to harm the citizens of the State of Israel and will continue to operate firmly against anyone who uses terror against it," the IDF opined.
The IDF holds Hamas solely responsible for maintaining peace and quiet in the Gaza Strip.
