Fellowship Foundation Aids Rostov Youngsters
17.06.2010, Community Life The Jewish community of Rostov-on-Don has held its latest humanitarian campaign, which aimed to hand out shoes to the more needy members of the local community.
According to the Chief Rabbi of Rostov Region, Chaim Dantsinger, 100 pairs of shoes were donated to low-income families with children aged 2-13 years old who are in need good summer shoes. The aid was presented completely free of charge by the International Fellowship of Christians and Jews, otherwise known as the Keren Yedidut Fellowship Foundation, headed by Rabbi Yechiel Eckstein.
The rabbi also noted that the recipients were able to chose their shoes from a special catalog, to ensure that they would receive their favorite model and size. The Jewish community, on behalf of its members, expressed deep gratitude to Rabbi Yechiel Eckstein and the sponsors of this charity for organizing this important campaign.
