After Paris, anti-Semitic posters denouncing a ‘Jewish mafia’ found in Geneva
21.12.2010, Anti-Semitism Posters making publicity for an anti-Semitic book denouncing a "Jewish mafia” have been found on the walls of a street in Geneva.
Similar posters had been placed on walls of Paris and its suburbs last month before being removed by the city authorities following complaints by Jewish community leaders.
According to CICAD, a body monitoring and coordinating action against anti-Semitic incidents in Geneva, the posters show the cover of the book by Herve Ryssen titled "The Jewish mafia. The great international predators."
The book, published in 2008, refers without any ambiguity to the various anti-Semitic theories on the existence of a "world Jewish plot."
"It is the first time that we are confronted with the propaganda of Herve Ryssen in Geneva," said Johanne Gurfinkiel, a CICAD official who suggested that the man must have "local support".
CICAD called on the Geneva authorities "to intervene to remove these posters that many city residents discovered "with great shock."
