1,000 people gather at Euro Disney for European Jewish Education and Youth General Assembly
03.04.2011, Community Life Around 1,000 people, from Western, Central and Eastern Europe, but also from the US and Israel, gathered Sunday at the Euro Disney resort near Paris for the two-day European Jewish Education and Youth General Assembly conference organized by the European Council of Jewish Communities (ECJC).
The conference brings together headmasters, teachers, academicians, researchers, youth movement leaders, student organisation leaders and activists, special needs educators and specialists, youth workers, field workers, directors and coordinators of education departments of communities and organisations, adult informal education professionals, sports and fitness trainers, activists in the wonderful new educational initiatives from across the continent, patrons and supporters of educational programmes, content providers of Jewish educational content.
The broad-ranging general assembly will tackle such issues as European Jewish identity, preservation of European Jewish hritages sites and culture, the role of social media, Jews and the environment, and how to stand up to anti-Zionism.
It will include plenaries, panel discussions, workshops, seminars, and cultural encounters.
