Fellowship Foundation Provides Help for the Holidays
23.06.2011, Community Life As part of the charitable program sponsored by the Keren Yedidut Fellowship Foundation, headed by Rabbi Yechiel Eckstein, children from needy Jewish families of Krivoy Rog received food packages. The parcels included a variety of kosher staples as well as some special treats. The packages were delivered in the period between Lag B'Omer and Shavuot.
For many Jews in Krivoy Rog, the food packages are a first step in introducing them to the Jewish community. As Stella Malyshko, the mother of one of the participants of the program, stated: "First, we asked the community for help because of our difficult financial situation. Upon arriving to receive the aid, we were invited to participate in classes about the holidays. Eventually we became participants in programs and activities in the community, and now my daughter attends Sunday school at the synagogue.”
The children who received assistance through this program and their parents expressed sincere gratitude to its sponsors - the International Foundation of Christians and Jews, otherwise known as the Fellowship Foundation.
This program was implemented by the Jewish community of Krivoy Rog, a leading member of the Federation of Jewish Communities of Ukraine.
