Jewish young adults from throughout Ukraine have just completed a two-week seminar. Held from June 28 to July 11 at the Boreas Resort complex in Lyustdorf – a seaside suburb of Odessa – the event was dedicated to exploring and expanding Jewish leadership.
The seminar, organized by the Chabad Shomrey Shabos Jewish community of Odessa and the Federation of Jewish Communities of the CIS, was attended by nearly 200 people. There were classes on Jewish history and rituals, sessions with psychologist Igor Geller, workshops on flower arranging, sports, dancing, classes in Israeli self-defense technique Krav Maga, in addition to enjoying entertainment (at the resort’s theater and at the 3D-cinema), barbeques and late-night talks, as well as outings of go-karting, bowling, paintball shooting and rock climbing.
Many of the participants felt that the seminar was too short, so the organizers promised to take this into account in their future plans.
