Famous Russian MP dedicates new Torah
21.12.2012, Community Life On the last day of Chanukah, a new Torah scroll was inaugurated at the central Synagogue of Moscow, Russia by courtesy of Mr. Yossef Kabzon, a member of the ‘Duma’ Russian Parliament, a famous singer, national hero and proud Jew.
After the last letters were written, the new Torah scroll was led in a festive parade towards the central Synagogue where it was inaugurated with joyful dancing. Hundreds of members of the Jewish community, dignitaries, rabbis and guests attended the ceremony.
