New terror attack in Jerusalem: one person killed as Arab drives his car into crowd
05.11.2014, Israel At least one person has died and three others have been seriously injured after an Arab man rammed a car into a crowd on a light rail platform in Jerusalem Wednesday in what is being referred to as an "intentional attack" by Israeli police.
Israel Police spokesman Micky Rosenfeld said that police shot and killed the driver of the car.
The car hit the train platform, then rammed into other cars, after which the driver jumped out and tried to run away. The officials said the driver then attacked a group of policemen with a crowbar before he was shot and killed.
The incident was the second attack in Jerusalem involving a car running over people in two weeks. On Oct. 22, a Hamas-linked Palestinian driver plowed his car into a crowd of people near a light rail station, killing two people, including a three-month-old baby.
Last week, Yehuda Glick, a leading voice in a campaign to expand Jewish prayer rights on the Temple Mount, was wounded a week ago when a Palestinian gunman on a motorcycle opened fire at him as he left a conference in Jerusalem.
