Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas on Tuesday condemned the attack that killed four Jewish worshipers at a synagogue in Jerusalem on Tuesday.
Abbas’s office also denounced "the killing of civilians by any party.”
A statement published in response to the Har Nof terror attack said the PA president condemned the “killing of worshipers in a synagogue and all acts of violence regardless of their source.”
The statement called for an end to “incursions and provocations by settlers against the Aksa Mosque.”
Abbas’s office also accused “some Israeli ministers” of incitement and reiterated the PA’s commitment to the two-state solution and the recent understandings to achieve calm that were reached in Amman during US Secretary of State John Kerry’s visit.
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has accused Abbas of inciting deadly violence in Jerusalem.
US Secretary of State John Kerry has also condemned the attack as "senseless brutality," and called on Palestinian leaders to also denounce the incident.
Earlier Tuesday, Palestinian terror group Hamas reacted to the incident by linking it to the death of a Palestinian bus driver found hanged in his vehicle earlier in the week and calling for more "revenge attacks."
