Jewish man wearing kippah attacked in Marseille
11.01.2016, Anti-Semitism A Jewish man wearing a kippah was attacked by a 15-year-old boy near a synagogue in Marseille, southern France.
The victim was assaulted with a machete and sustained light injuries.
The suspected assailant was arrested shortly after the incident.
According to report by French Jewish news website alyaexpress-news.com, the victim is in his thirties. Identified only as Benjamin A., he was on his way to the Dvar Avraham synagogue when the attack happened.
Witnesses said the alleged assailant shouted “allah hu akbar,” Arabic for “Allah is the greatest,” before the attack, the report said.
