Swastikas painted in front of Jewish-owned shop in Seattle
04.02.2016, Anti-Semitism Swastikas were painted in front of a store in Seattle owned by a Jewish family.
"It wasn’t large and it wasn’t big yellow paint, but like it was unmistakable. And it was on our front door step," Max Alcabes, the owner, said.
“We’re the only Jewish business on the street, so it feels targeted. It feels real ugly and it’s kind of a sick feeling.”
He said that this is the second time this has happened in the past six months.
Graffiti in the area is nothing new, he added, but he claims no other businesses in the neighborhood are finding these symbols in front of their stores.
"That symbol represents a lot. I’ve seen it my whole life and it’s the ugliest symbol in the world to me," Alcabes said.
