'Anti-Semitism is widespread in Molenbeek'
15.04.2016, Anti-Semitism A Belgian politician said anti-Semitism is widespread in Molenbeek and Anderlecht two Brussels districts with a large Muslim population.
Since the Paris and Brussels deadly terror attacks, the Molenbeek neighborhood, one of the 19 communes of the Belgian capital, has been dubbed the ‘’Islamic State of Molenbeek'', a hub for jihadists and radical islam, as it is from there that the operational base for the network launched their murderous plans in the two capitals.
‘’Teaching about the Holocaust, which is compulsory, doesn’t exist in Molenbeek schools. It would lead to riots…,’’ according to Alain Destexhe, a member of the Belgian parliament for the Liberal governing party and former secretary general of the Doctors without borders association.
‘’Belgium has allowed over the years the creation of a parallel society in these neighborhoods where people don’t share the same European values,’’ he deplored during a panel discussion oganised in Brussels by the European Policy Center (EPC) and the European Foundation for Democracy on the March 22 Brussels terror attacks.
‘’Coping with the problem of anti-Semitism is one of the priorities,’’ he said.
