A car containing gas cylinders was found just outside a synagogue in the city of Marseille, in southern France, French media reported.

The parked car found Saturday morning outside the Bar Yohaye Jewish Community Center and synagogue in Marseille’s 4th Arrondissement east of the Saint-Charles railways station had no trigger mechanism to cause an explosion, police said.

The incident occurred days after an abandoned car ith similar gas cylinders was found near the main cathedral of Paris. Three women were arrested in connection with the Paris incident. According to French Interior Minister Bernard Cazeneuve, the three were likely planning an imminent terror attack.

In Marseille, police were trying to locate the owner of the car they found near the synagogue.

Increased security measures have been put in place around the synagogue.
