The Statement of the World Congress of the Georgian Jews Vice-president, the Georgian Parliament Member Jemal (Simon) Ajiashvili
28.07.2003 Dear friends!
I share with You the indignation resulting of the contents of the “Declaration” published in the “VEK” newspaper of July 08, 2003.
We have worked together with Joseph Zissels for a long period of time, including the difficult post-Soviet years. Undoubtedly, he is one of the most active and trustworthy figures in Jewish world. Joseph Zissels is a highly-respected man in the Jewish world. He has always represented the Ukrainian community and post-Soviet Jews in an appropriate and honest manner.
The Jewish Community of Georgia is grateful for Zissel’s compassion and generosity.
The contents of the “Declaration” were absolutely shocking to me, not to mention its style and form. I resolutely share the opinion of the Vaad of Ukraine, and consider that the “Declaration” is inadmissible in the international Jewish community, and particularly the Ukrainian Jewish community.
The contents of the “Declaration” were absolutely shocking to me, not to mention its style and form. I resolutely share your opinion and consider that such activity is inadmissible in international Jewish community, and in any Jewish Community particularly.
I state my complete support to Joseph Zissels and hope for further cooperation.
Djemal Adjiashvili, The World Congress of Georgian Jews vice-President, the Parliament of Georgia Deputy, the Euro-Asian Jewish Congress Council General Member, writer, National Prize of Georgia laureate
