                  DAY OF SOLIDARITY WITH ISRAEL IN MOSCOW

                  On Sunday, in the center of the Russian capital, directly in front of the Great Choral Synagogue, a mass action in solidarity with Israel took place.
                  Prayer for the welfare of the State of Israel was offered in the Synagogue, as well as the street in front of the temple, which was closed to transportation for the celebration. The guests of the commemoration could taste Israeli dishes in several Jewish open-air cafés and purchase Israeli goods at an open-air market there.
                  On a specially constructed stage, everyone could observe LIVE videoconferences with Israel, the participants of which were Israeli diplomats, famous artists, representatives of the Jewish Agency in Russia (JAFI), the Russian Jewish Congress (RJC), the Moscow Jewish Religious Community (MJRC) and representatives of Moscow’s government, who rendered their support in organizing the festivities.
                  Alexander Machkevich, president of the Euro-Asian Jewish CongressDuring the solemn ceremony at the end of the celebration, the leader of the largest Jewish organization on the continent – Alexander Machkevich, president of the Euro-Asian Jewish Congress, declared that these activities demonstrate the inseparable ties between Israel and Diaspora Jews. “I want to express appreciation to Moscow’s Jews and their friends for coming here to stand in solidarity with our historical native land,” – the EAJC president emphasized in his speech, which was also translated into Hebrew.
                  In addition, on behalf of the Euro-Asian Jewish Congress, which was among the sponsors of the celebration, Mr. Machkevich expressed his gratitude to the organizers of the festivities, including, the Russian Jewish Congress, also a member of the EAJC.
