Euro-Asian Jewry Congratulated Tony Blair on the Victory Day.
10.05.2006 British Prime Minister Tony Blair received Euro-Asian Jewish Congress (EAJC) President Alexander Machkevitch. The meeting took place within the framework of Conference of European Rabbis (CER) session in London, organized with the EAJC support.
As Dr. Machkevitch told journalists after the negotiations, the World War II outcomes for the Euro-Asian Jewry were discussed among other issues, including counteraction to the anti-Semitism and fighting against international terrorism.
"We are sincerely grateful to the United Kingdom, who, together with the USSR and other allies on anti-Nazi coalition, had won "the Brown Plague" aimed at total annihilation of our nation", - said EAJC President.
Dr. Machkevitch also said that he sent the British PM best wishes on behalf of the Jewish communities' leadership of Australia, India, New Zeeland and Singapore, which are the EAJC members.
"The countries, where those Jewish communities exist, are the British Commonwealth of Nations members", - emphasized the EAJC leader. "That is why we with the Prime Minister discussed the United Kingdom role in international interethnic and inter-religious dialogue in the name of peace and stability in different regions".
