                  EAJC Delegation Visit to the United States
                  USA, March 25-28, 2007

                  On March 25-28, 2007 the Euro-Asian Jewish Congress (EAJC) delegation with the EAJC and the Jewish Congress of Kazakhstan (JCK) President, Dr. Alexander A. Machkevitch at its head visited the United States.
                  The delegation was composed also of the EAJC and the World Jewish Congress (WJC) Vice-President Alexander Bronstein, the EAJC General Council and Vaad of Ukraine Chairman Josef Zissels, the EAJC Council of Rabbis Chairman and the Rabbi-in-Chief of Kazakhstan Yeshaya Cohen, and the EAJC Council of Rabbis Secretary General and the Rabbi-in-Chief of Moscow Pinchas Goldschmidt.
                  The EAJC President program included his meetings with the Sen. Charles Schumer (D-NY), the Sen. Joseph Lieberman (ID-CT), the Rep. Jerrold Nadler (D-NY), the Rep. Anthony Weiner (D-NY), the Rep. Pete Sessions (R-TX) and the Rep. Eni Faleomavaega (D-AS), who gave a dinner to honor Machkevitch in the House of Representatives building.
                  Besides, Machkevitch held negotiations with some major US Jewish leaders, including the Malcolm Hoenlein (Conference of Presidents of Major American Jewish Organizations), r. Arthur Schneier (Appeal of Conscience Foundation) and Matthew Bronfman (WJC).
                  The EAJC President also had conversations with the International Director of the r. Andrew Baker (American Jewish Committee (AJC)), Edward Robin (NCSJ) and Mark Levin (NCSJ).
                  During the visit the EAJC leader was awarded by the United Jewish Appeal (UJA) Federation of New York Global Leadership Award (see http://www.mosnews.com/news/2007/03/27/jewishaward.shtml for the details).
                  At the reception of honor arranged by r. Schneier Machkevitch discussed the international interethnic and sectarian dialogue prospects with the US Deputy Secretary of State John Negroponte, the former US Ambassador to the United Nations Richard Holbrooke, the former World Bank President James Wolfensohn (Citigroup), and the Lord Browne of Madingley (British Petroleum).
                  The EAJC delegation visit was ended by the dinner arranged in honor of the guests by the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Kazakhstan to the Unites States Kanat Saudabayev.
