A meeting of Dov Kofman, the "Beit Tshuva" Jewish Religious Community of Birobidzhan Chairman which intensely cooperates with the Euro-Asian Jewish Congress (EAJC), with Ben Boris Boguslavsky, the Krasnoyarsk Branch of the Joint Director, took place in Krasnoyarsk.
During the meeting they discussed current programs of the Community. The "Joint" representative was especially interested in the project "Videoconference" which involves Torah teaching. The educative process proceeds via internet and is led by the teachers form Israel. An agreement was reached on the cooperation in several projects designed for the reconstruction of a few objects of historical and religious value which belong to the Jewish Community of Birobidzhan.
Dov Kofman expressed his opinion on the intense activities of Federal Jewish National Cultural Autonomy (FENKA) of Birobidzhan that make such meetings and agreements possible as the FENKA becomes one of the most active participants of Jewish life in Russia. And it was in Birobidzhan that not so long ago the FENKA delegation with its President Mikhail Chlenov held a regional seminar on the development of the Jewish Community life and specific Russian laws regulating legal relations of the minorities with the state authorities.
