The IV International Festival of Children and Youth Art "Freilehe Kinder" was held in Karaganda, Republic of Kazakhstan. It was organized by Jewish Organizations of Kazakhstan Association "Mitzvah" supported by American Joint Distribution Committee.
The festival gathered more than 200 participants from the CIS countries and demonstrated their high professional level.
The "Mitzvah" Chairman, Euro-Asian Jewish Congress (EAJC) General Council member Alexander Baron said that the international festival "Freilehe Kinder" acquired a permanent ground in Kazakhstan and is an essential part of the EAJC program of extending tolerance among the youth.
                  EAJC President Alexander Machkevitch Greeting
To the participant of the international festival "Freilehe Kinder"

Dear participants of International Jewish Festival of Children and Youth Art "Freilehe Kinder",
Let me speak on behalf of Euro-Asian Jewish Congress (EAJC), which unites Jewish communities of 25 countries on three continents, and congratulate you with the real Kazakhstan fest which I hope will become a true holiday in our calendar.
That is the third year that, thanks to Jewish Organizations of Kazakhstan Association "Mitzvah", the Festival gathers hundreds of participants from all towns of our motherland who are joined by guests from Russia, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan. I am pleased that this Festival was created through collaboration of the Jewish community of Kazakhstan with American Joint Distribution Committee, our long-time partner.
Of course, you will learn a lot about Jewish culture, tradition, art looking at performances of our creative teams. But no less important is the fact that many people here, in Karaganda, who know nothing about the Jews and Judaism will get acquainted with them. I am convinced that your Festival will become a real world-important event and demonstrate unique tolerance and mutual understanding of people of Kazakhstan that has always been and will remain an example of humanitarian safety for all peoples without exception.
I wish all the organizers and participants health and joy.
                  Sincerely yours,
                  Alexander Machkevitch
