President of the Euro-Asian Jewish Congress Meets New SAR President
30.04.2009
The President of the Euro-Asian Jewish Congress (EAJC) Alexander Mashkevich met with the newly elected South African President Jacob Zuma, head of the African National Congress party, during yet another visit to this country.
Questions about the creation of a democratic and socially stable state, built on principles of tolerance and providing equal rights and conditions for various racial, ethnic, and national groups, were discussed during the meeting.
The EAJC President called Jacob Zuma to cooperation in the dialogue of civilization, which will give an impulse to the further development of South Africa and the entire African region.
"I am certain," the EAJC president told the journalists. "That the new social model of South African society, offered by the new president, will place South Africa firmly on the list of dynamic democratic countries."
Earlier, the South African non-governmental charity organization "Ма Afrika Tikuun" gave Alexander Mashkevich the "Angel Wings" award for participation in charity activity for the benefit of South Africa.
