Alexander Mashkevich, the President of the Euro-Asian Jewish Congress (EAJC), visited the Democratic Republic of Congo.
During his visit, the EAJC leader met with the President of the Democratic Republic of Congo Joseph Kabila. Various business and humanitarian issues related to the activity of the EAJC and its leader on the African continent were discussed at the meeting.
This was not the first visit to Africa of the EAJC President, Alexander Mashkevich is personally familiar with many countries of the continent. In particular, he has visited South Africa, where he met with its President, Jacob Zuma. The South African non-governmental charitable organization "Ma Afrika Tikuun" presented Alexander Mashkevich with the "Angel's Wings" award for his humanitarian activity.
During his stay in Congo, Alexander Mashkevich also met with the representatives of the local Jewish community, which now amounts to approximately one hundred people.
