                  02.08.2010

The Euro-Asian Jewish Congress (EAJC) is now providing organizational and informational support to a unique humanitarian project – a solitary yacht voyage made to attract attention to the problems of preserving the World Ocean.
The journey of the famous Russian yachtsman Victor Yazykov stars in September 2010. The lone yachtsman is planning to cover a distance of over 25 000 marine miles, circumnavigating the Earth in seven months.
As EAJC representatives noted at the press conference, which took place on August 2, “EAJC support of this voyage is driven by the humanitarian idea of a joint responsibility of humanity for life on our planet, for our future. This is close to the basic ideas at the foundation of EAJC activity. We seek to organize a fruitful dialogue of representatives of different peoples and faiths, to teach people to respect those who are not like them, to help different people feel themselves part of a single human race. The ocean has always united countries and peoples, and we are certain that yet another reminder that we can save our world through common effort shall not be superfluous.”
