Speech of the EAJC Executive Vice President Yuri Raskin

«Business and Web». Meeting of the EAJC “Congress-Collegium”

August 4, the regular plenary meeting of the “Congress-collegium” - a business association working under the auspices of Euro-Asian Jewish Congress took place. The theme of the meeting that attracted many interested participants in spite of excruciating Moscow heat, was “Using information and communication potential of the Internet in the interests of business."
Yuri Raskin, Chairman of “Congress-Collegium” and EAJC Executive Vice-President , opened the meeting. He stressed that the choice of topic is due to the intention of the organizers to use the opportunities provided by the Internet as much as possible for business community development and advancing interests of its members.
Then the audience was presented with a short video, which illustrated with sociological examples the growing role of the Internet in the life of mankind.
Ivan Nikitin, head of Web department of the Center of Computer Training at Bauman Moscow State Technical University, made an overview presentation entitled “Midday, 21st Century.” He stressed that in the XXI century, whether we like it or not, the Internet has become an integral part of everyday life, and whoever is not ready to take advantage of its tremendous opportunities, will inevitably find himself "on the sidelines."
Grigory Kogan,  Member of the EAJC Board of Directors , CEO of IT-company "Peak", presented an entertaining Internet essay impersonating an Internet site,and  telling the story of one Web page that has slowly become a corporate site, then added a variety of Internet services, and came to a system of remote working staff.
After that Yuri Raskin together with the Director General of web-studio "Firth" Catherine Shukalova presented  new project of "Congress-Collegium" with symbolic name "Kollegi.com”. The aim of the new project is to "establish and develop informational, organizational, business and educational space, representing the individual, collegial and corporate interests of the members of the “Congress-Collegium”, and designed for effective communication between members of the business community and with the outside world."
Executive Director of the EAJC Moscow office Dmitry Maryasis introduced yet another initiative of the Congress - Internet campaign "Support Israel! Say your word to the World ". Those who would like to participate, can write their kind words addressed to the Jewish state on the campaign site or on Twitter. The goal of the campaign is to gather as many entries as possible, and send them in the hard copy to the Israel leadership.
Member of the EAJC Board of Directors Vladimir Fisherman immediately responded to the call,  and left a message on the campaign site. The audience watched on a big screen how his words were appearing on the site.
These two projects became the main topic of discussion at  the round table.  Invited experts - prominent figures of  Internet community took part In the emotional discussion. Among them were the President of the company «Digital Zone» Dmiry Zavalishin, Director General of the  RBC  member company Media World "Mikhail Gurevich, founder of the official portal of the President of Russia kremlin.ru Artem Geller and others.
The results of the discussion were summed up by senior analyst of the Russian Association of Electronic Communications (RAEK) Irina leva. She noted that the main thing is the desire of people, and in this case, the participants of the “Congress-Collegium”  to enter the Internet space. And it will bring results  in any case.
