EAJC Supports Performance at Shalom Theater
23.09.2010
The Euro-Asian Jewish Congress (EAJC) has supported the Moscow Jewish Theater "Shalom". Through the Congress' aid, the theater performed the "Madam Rosa" play, directed by Vizma Vitols. The play, written by famous playwright Nikolai Kolyada, is based on the famous novel "The Life Before Us" by Emile Ajar (pseudonym of Romain Gary).
In thanks for the aid, the administration of the theater presented EAJC President Alexander Mashkevich with a certificate to verify that he is a patron of the theater, and one of the seats in the audience hall now bears a plaque with his name. The letter to the EAJC leaders, which accompanied the Patron's Certificate, was written by the art director of the theater, People's Artist of Russia Alexander Levenbuk, and reads as follows: "The Shalom Theater is deeply grateful for our longstanding partnership, friendship, and support. We hope for an eternal friendship, and are always glad to see you in our theater."
