Project Kesher Charity Event in Women's Prison and "Women's Health" Round Table
08.11.2010 On the 27th of October, a charity event took place at the Vyshnevolotskaya women's prison camp #5. at the initiative of the international women's organization "Project Kesher," which is a part of the Euro-Asian Jewish Congress (EAJC).
The event was organized by the coordinator of the Project Kesher "Women's Health" program Nadezhda Visnapi, and the leader of the Project Kesher group in Tver Natalia Muhina.
The doctors of the Tver Oblast A. P. Avayev Oncological Center and the AIDS and Virulent Diseases Center conducted examinations of 235 inmates and workers of the prison camp. An educational lecture was also held, and 250 women were present there.
When filling out questionnaires after the event, the inmates noted the importance of such meetings.
On the 28th of October, the "Health of the Women – Health of Society" round table took place in the building of the administration of the Krasnoarmeyskiy district of Volgograd. The round table was organized by the "Building Civil Society Through Women's Unions" project, "Project Kesher," and the "To Include in Our Care" project. The last is a project of the "Women of Don" regional organization, which is active in the Southern Federal District.
Leaders of governmental structures, community organizations, national communities, the medical community, and the media all participated in the round table. The round table was moderated by the leader of the "Project Kesher" Volgograd Regional Branch Inna Motornaya. The presentation of "Project Kesher" activity in the "Women's Health" program was made by the leader of the "Women's Place in Society" department, member of the RF State Duma Expert Council Marina Konstantinova.
In the end, the head of administration of the Krasnoarmeyskiy district of Volgograd A.V. Gorbunov thanked the organizators for their detailed exposition of the topic at hand, and expressed a great interest in future cooperation.
