EAJC Representatives Visit Kurdish Diaspora Round Table
24.12.2010 Representatives of the Euro-Asian Jewish Congress (EAJC) took part in a round table session titled “2011: Perspectives of Resolution of the Turkey-Kurd conflict” at the invitation of the International Union of Kurdish Public Associations. The meeting, which took place in the Independent Press Center of Moscow, was attended by representatives of the Union of Diasporas of the Russian Federation, leaders of Moscow national unions, experts in oriental studies, and journalists.
The main reports were made by the representatives of the Association of Kurdish Societies in Russia Habatkar Efkar and the editor-in-chief of the “Free Kurdistan” Ishan Miroev. The session was moderated by the Chairman of the International Council of Kurdish Public Associations Merab Shamoev. The representatives of the Kurdish diaspora noted in their speeches that next year seems to be critical for the discussion of the fate of the Kurdish people.
The EAJC representative underscored in his speech that “by supporting the natural desire of the Kurdish people for unity and cultural autonomy, we can only support the change of tactics by the Kurdish resistance, which is also supported by the European Union. It became obvious that it is time for serious social support. And the voice of the people of Russia, which plays an extremely important part in world politics, will be a most weighty argument.”
