First “Discovering Israel” Program Over
26.04.2012 On April 26, the first program of the “Discover Israel” program cycle ended in Jerusalem. The program was organized by the EAJC for journalists of non-Jewish media from countries whose communities are united by the Congress.
Participants of the problem visited the local health insurance company Leumi, where its representative Miriam Fishzon spoke at length about the Israeli system of medical insurance, and a worker from the local division organized a guided tour through its cabinets and labs.
Then a tour throught Jerusalem's Old City, including visits to the holy and memorial spots for different religions took place.
At the parting dinner, famous Israeli politologists, chief scientist of the Ministry of Absorption Zeev Hanin answered the journalist's questions about the political system and community life of the Jewish state.
Some of the participants of the program shared their impressions. Galina Ulitenok (Belarus): “The Discovery og Israel was successful! Or, at least, a pleasant initial meeting, for which I thank the EAJC greatly.” Farid Akberov (Azerbaijan): “This is my first time in Israel, and I have so many impressions that it's hard to even say them all. I'll just say one thing – I will come to Israel again soon.” Vera Kravets (Russia, Birobijan): “This is not my first time in Israel, and I love this country very much. But before I knew only the touristic Israel, and a bit of its everyday life. And now I've discovered real life, not its fancy cover. My great thanks to the EAJC.”
