On November 16th, the Embassy of the State of Israel in Moscow held a briefing dedicated to the anti-terroristic IDF operation “Pillar of Defense” in the Gaza Strip.

The briefing was held for representatives of Jewish organizations operating in Moscow. Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the State of Israel in Russia Dorit Golender informed the community about the development of the conflict with terrorists over its first three days. She stressed that Israel had to begin this operation to protect its civilians from constant rocket fire from the Gaza Strip.

The Ambassador also stressed that the IDF is taking all possible action to avoid civilian casualties among the residents of Gaza, while the terrorists of Hamas use civilians as a cover and stockpile weapons in heavily populated areas.

Deputy Head of the EAJC PR Department, Nikolai Propirniy, presented Dorit Golender with a copy of the EAJC Statement on the “Pillar of Defense” operation. The Ambassador replied that Israeli diplomats have already familiarized themselves with the document, and are deeply grateful to the EAJC for its timely words of support.
