14.02.2013 The international women's Jewish organization Project Kesher, working under the aegis of the Euro-Asian Jewish Congress, has initiated a round table in Dniepropetrivsk, titled “Job Placement and the Creation of Workplaces. Development of Private Enterprises.”
The round table discussed the implementation of business ideas that could provide the population with more workplaces, in particular, for women who either cannot work full-time or would like to take some of their work home.
It was stressed at the round table that women, including private entrepreneurs, are themselves authors of interesting business ideas which stimulate personal and career growth, which helps women feel financially secure and independent.
A regional seminar of Project Kesher has also taken place in Bobruisk. 26 women from Minsk, Mozyr, Lida, Borisov, Gomel', Rechitsa and Bobruysk gathered to answer one simple question: “What can women do if they unite?”
As it turned out, women can do a lot: to preserve and hand down Jewish traditions, to build the community, to take care not only of their own health, but of the health of their families and female friends, to search for sources of domestic violence and to combat domestic violence, as well as sing, dance, write poetry, and be movie directors and actresses at the same time.
The following topics were especially popular: “Women's Health,” “Jewish Education,” “Countering Domestic Violence.” The presentations and teaching materials specially prepared by Project Kesher will help experienced volunteers and new participants of the project to continue their work in their own communities.
