On June 11, a round table took place in Kyiv, titled “Developing a Method of Open Cooperation Between the Government and Civil Society on Preventing Right Extremism.” The event was organized by the Ukrainian representative office of the Friedrich Ebert Foundation, the Secretariat of the Verkhovna Rada Human Rights Commissioner, and the Ukrainian representative office of the International Organization for Migration.

The government was represented by office holders from the Ministry of Culture, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Education and Science, the State Migration Service, the Ministry of Justice, and the Ministry of Social Policy. “Civil society” was represented by experts in counteracting xenophobia from various NGOs, such as the Euro-Asian Jewish Congress, the Congress of National Communities of Ukraine, the “No Limits!” Project, the “Social Action,” the Coalition Against Discrimination, and so on.

Representatives of ministries attempted to report on their work in countering xenophobia, racism, and interethnic intolerance. Experts representing civil society harshly criticized state policy in these matters.

The Euro-Asian Jewish Congress was represented by General Council member Vyacheslav Likhachev.
