As always during the winter holidays, the Sefer Center for the University Teaching of Jewish Civilization held its traditional international Jewish Studies conference and, just after that, its winter school for students, graduate students, and young scholars. The Sefer Center is a part of the Euro-Asian Jewish Congress, and is directed by EAJC General Council member, Dr. Victoria Mochalova. Its Academic Board Chairman is Euro-Asian Jewish Congress Secretary General, professor Michael Chlenov.

This year, the Jewish Studies school opened on February 5 at a study center in the town of Dobroye, near Moscow, and ended in four days, on February 9.The school’s participants could opt to listen up to four mini-study courses: “Classical Jewish texts and their interpretations”; “The history of Eastern European Jews”; “Jews at the crossroads of cultures”; “Israel today.” The school also included plenary lectures, cinema viewings, and a beit-midrash. A special panel titled “Lead me across the Maidan: Jews and the Ukranian revolution” had also been held.
