Over fifty leaders of Jewish communities from 20 countries have visited Israel to show their support. The visit was organizes by the World Jewish Congress (WJC), the most influential and representative Jewish organization of the Diaspora. Its leaders and the representatives of Jewish communities have come to the Jewish state due to most of Israel's territory being under fire from rockets and mine throwers. These attacks are being launched by the terrorists of HAMAS and other Islamist groups. After HAMAS' leadership refused to accept the ceasefire initiative of the Egyptian government, the Israel Defense Forces are continuing Operation Protective Edge to attack the terrorists' infrastructure.

The WJC delegation includes an active representative delegation of the Euro-Asian Jewish Congress (EAJC). The delegation itself includes EAJC Secretary General Michael Chlenov, EAJC General Council Chairman Josef Zisels, EAJC Vice Presidents and General Council members Vladimir Kritzman and Guram Batiashvili, who represent the Jewish communities of Kyrgyzstan and Georgia. EAJC Deputy Secretary General Haim Ben Yakov and editor-in-chief of the EAJC website Vyacheslav Likhachev also particiated in the events as part of a solidarity mission.

The mission began its work on July 16, when the representatives of global Jewry are to meet with Israel's Minister of Foreign Affairs Avigdor Lieberman and other officials.
Tomorrow, on July 17, the participants of the mission will visit the south of Israel, which is being targeted the most by terrorists from the Gaza sector.

The mission is also due to meet with Jerusalem Mayor Nir Barkat, a number of ministers and Knesset members, representatives of the IDF, and experts on various matters.
