                  Head of Armenian Jewish Community Decorated with State Award

                  The Chairman of the Jewish community of Armenia, which is a part of the Euro-Asian Jewish Congress, EAJC General Council member Rimma Varjapetyan has been awarded the Movses Khorenatsi medal.

                  The decree granting the award, signed by President of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan, reads: “In light of the celebration of the Independence of the Armenian Republic, and considering her active social and political position, Rimma Varjapetyan, the Chairman of the NGO “Jewish Community of Armenia” is to be decorated with the Movses Khorenatsi medal.”

                  The Movses Khorenatsi medal is an Armenian state award in effect since 1993. It is awarded for “Movses Khorenatsi Medal is awarded for notable creative achievements in Armenian culture, arts, literature, education and the humanities.”

                  The staff and leaders of the EAJC congratulate Rimma Varjapetyan on receiving this well-deserved medal and wish her further achievements for the good of the Jewush community.
