The Fifth Global Forum for Combating Anti-Semitism began its work in Jerusalem on May 12. Leaders and experts of the Euro-Asian Jewish Congress (EAJC) are taking part in the Forum, including EAJC Secretary General Michael Chlenov, EAJC General Council Chairman Josef Zissels, and the head of the Ethnic Minority Rights Monitoring Group Vyacheslav Likhachev.

Prime Minister of Israel Benjamin Netanyahu gave the opening speech at the Forum. Guests included Minister of Jerusalem and Diaspora Affairs Naftali Bennet and German Minister of Justice and Consumer Protection Heiko Maas. The Forum gathered several hundred participants from around the world, incдuding politicians, representatives of the diplomatic corps, religious leaders, Jewish community leaders, experts and scholars.

EAJC experts presented the 12th Annual Report on anti-Semitism in the former Soviet Union. The text of the report, edited by Vyacheslav Likhachev, can be downloaded here in *.pdf format. The work of the Forum will continue until May 14. A special panel will be devoted to the current events in Eastern Europe and post-Soviet territories.
