The Euro-Asian Jewish Congress would like to congratulate all of the heroes of the Red Army, the partisans, the workers on the homefront, and everyone wo survived the way and did everything within their power so that the skies above our heads would be peaceful with the 70th anniversaryof the victory over Nazism.

Victory Day is more than just a day of celebration - it is a day to remember the heavy price they paid for our life and our freedom. Millions laid down their heads on the fields of battle without ever finding out how their deeds shaped the world, the world which would have been far different without them.

Time is an implacable mistress, and fewer and fewer participants of that frightening war remain alive under the onslaught of the years. However, this is no reason to forget their heroic deeds and how important they are to the history of the entire world in general and to every single fate in particular. We need to assure them that their acts of heroism will never be forgotten.
