Executive Vice President of the World Jewish Congress (RJC) Robert Singer and Euro-Asian Jewish Congress (EAJC) Secretary General, WJC Vice President Michael Chlenov met with the Russian Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Mikhail Bogdanov. The meeting was organized at the initiative of the EAJC. Deputy Head of the Near East and North Africa Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Sergei Kozlov also took part in the meeting.

The WJC and EAJC representatives shared information on the current activities of their respective organizations and on the general situation in the Jewish diaspora. Michael Chlenov spoke about the V Global Forum on Combating Antisemitism which recently took place in Israel. He also brought forward the statistics gathered by EAJC experts on anti-Semitic incidents in CIS countries in 2014 in comparison to Western European countries.

There was an exchange of opinion on the situation in the Near East; particularly on possibilities for Russian-Israeli cooperation after the formation of the new government of Israel; the future of the Iranian nuclear program and the consequences of the removal of international sanctions from Iran; and the dangers of Islamist terrorism. The meeting took place in an atmosphere of mutual respect and consideration.
