                  “Jews in Fighting and Resistance” Exhibition in Minsk

                  The Union of Belarusian Jewish Public Associations and Communities, which is a part of the EAJC, and the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Belarus opened the exhibition “Jews in Fighting and Resistance” at the Minsk Regional Library named after A. S. Pushkin. The exhibition was tmed to the 70th anniversay of the victory in the Great Patriotic War.

                  The chairman of the Union of Belarusian Jewish Public Associations and Communities (SBEOOO). EAJC General Council member Boris Gersten opened the exhibition. The speakers included Ambassador of the Czech Republic in Belarus Milan Eckert and Ambassador of Israel Yosef Shagal. The second edition of the “Righteous Gentiles of Belarus” book was presented at the exhibition.

                  Boris Gersten noted the importance of the exhibition: “Many things have been said about the victimsof the Holocaust, the victims of the war, but I believe that we need to talk more about those who fought in guerilla units and in the army, who fought Nazism and Fascism. This is very important because these people helped us all preserve the feeling of dignity that every people has.”
