November 15 Michael Chlenov, Secretary General of the Euro-Asian Jewish Congress (EAJC), Vice-President of the World Jewish Congress (WJC) met with Fulvio Martusciello, President of the European Parliament Delegation for relations with Israel, who was in Moscow with a working visit. Delegation for relations with Israel was formed in 1979 and is one of the oldest in the European Parliament. Its main function is the establishment and strengthening of parliamentary contacts between members of the Knesset and their European colleagues. Head of the delegation is known for his harsh statements against Palestinian terrorists.
During the meeting, Chlenov spoke about the EAJC activities and the situation with anti-Semitism in the former Soviet Union. Martusciello spoke about the work of his delegation, in particular, noted the necessity of formation in the European society image of Israel, free from bias and slander. He also suggested the EAJC Secretary General to speak in the European Parliament with a report on the current situation with the Jewish communities of the Euro-Asian region. In connection with the terrorist attacks in Paris, the sides discussed the threat of Islamist terrorism.
