Haim Ben Yaakov, Director General of the Euro-Asian Jewish Congress, participated in the reception in honor of Independence Day of the Republic of Kazakhstan, held in "David-Intercontinental" hotel in Tel Aviv. The reception was attended by diplomats, politicians, public figures and journalists from Kazakhstan and Israel.
Haim Ben Yaakov conveyed greetings on behalf of the EAJC to Dulat Kuanyshev, Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Israel. The message reads, in part: “The Jewish community of Kazakhstan together with the communities of Russia and Ukraine was one of the founders of the EAJC, which unites today Jewish communities of more than 20 countries on two continents. The Jewish community of Kazakhstan is one of the most active and fastest growing communities in the composition of the EAJC. Its prosperity is directly linked to the far-sighted national policies pursued in all the years of existence of independent Kazakhstan by its leadership... EAJC actively participated in several international forums on inter-religious and inter-ethnic dialogue, which were held in Kazakhstan. We consider it very important to hold such forums is in Kazakhstan, which has a huge positive experience in the maintenance of peace and mutual respect between the peoples inhabiting it.”
Dulat Kuanyshev in his speech noted EAJC activity as a factor in the maintenance of inter-religious peace and development of Jewish culture in Kazakhstan.
A day earlier, Ben Yaakov met with Michael Brodsky, appointed as Ambassador of Israel to the Republic of Kazakhstan. EAJC CEO stressed that the Congress is ready to cooperate with the Israeli embassy in the development of cultural, scientific and research projects.
