In Podgorica, in the office of the Jewish community in Montenegro, a member of the EAJC, took place the annual meeting of the Joint Control Commission on the implementation of the agreement governing the relations of mutual interest between the Government and the Jewish community. The meeting was attended by representatives of the Ministry for Human and Minority Rights and the Ministry of Education of Montenegro.
The sides discussed topical issues such as the organization of events dedicated to the International Holocaust Remembrance Day; implementation of the process of protection the Torah scrolls, as objects of cultural heritage; organization in Podgorica under the auspices of UNESCO the exhibition "People? Books, Land" presenting the history of the Jews from ancient times to the present day; the possibility to use the library of the Jewish community by schools and the University of Montenegro, as well as the replenishment of library fund.
