                  Holocaust victims were commemorated in Armenia

                  Members of the Jewish community of Armenia, member of the EAJC, gathered for a rally near the monument to the victims of the Holocaust and the Armenian Genocide. Representatives of the authorities and civil society organizations have come to mark the International Holocaust Remembrance Day, together with the Jewish community. Among them: Bradley Busetto, UN Resident Coordinator in the Republic of Armenia; Artak Zakaryan, Chairman of the Standing Committee on Foreign Relations of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia; Nara Ghulyan, representative of the President’s administration; members of the Coordinating Council of National Minorities under the President of Armenia, members of the Polish, Georgian, Yezidi and other national communities.
                  Rimma Varzhapetyan, Chairman of the Jewish Community of Armenia, welcomed the audience. She told that in Yerevan lives one of the liberators of Auschwitz Mnatsakan Grigoryan, who for health reasons could not visit a memorable event. At the meeting were: Marina Mkhitaryan, who read her own poems, dedicated to the tragedy of the Holocaust, and composer Willy Weiner.
                  Wreaths and bouquets were laid to the monument; candles were lit in memory of the fallen.
