Mikhail Chlenov, Secretary General of the Euro-Asian Jewish Congress met in the Israeli Embassy in Moscow with Zvi Heifetz, the newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the State of Israel in the Russian Federation. New Israeli Ambassador is a native of Russia, made aliyah in 1971 and in 1989 was a member of the delegation of Israeli diplomats at the Netherlands Embassy in the Soviet Union, he headed the embassies in Austria and the UK.
Michael Chlenov told the ambassador about the EAJC and its activities. They discussed issues of Russian-Israeli relations, the demographic characteristics of Russian Jewry, problems of communities – members of the EAJC.
