Dear friends, the Euro-Asian Jewish Congress congratulates you on Hanukkah - Holiday of Light and Freedom!
We celebrate this holiday as the victory of good over evil, light over darkness, freedom over slavery, righteousness over brute force. Centuries ago, a handful of dedicated people who have kept the light of faith in their hearts, in the unequal struggle defeated the mighty and numerous enemies, and saved the Jewish religion and the Jewish people. As a reward for their courage the Almighty gave them a miracle - a little bit of oil for eight days illuminated the Temple, purified of the dross.
Today, as in the times of the Maccabees, there are those who mortally hate and want to destroy the Jews, the Jewish state and the values that the Jews have brought to this world. But in the days of Hanukkah we especially clear understand that the people of Israel will live, and all our enemies shall perish, as their predecessors.
Each day of Hanukkah we add one candle in the festive lamp, so let our good deeds are multiplied from day to day, like the lights of Hanukkah! We want you to save the light in your souls, we wish you good miracles, starting with ourselves, but always get a response from the Almighty.
