“Promised Land” Exhibition In Petropavlovsk |

An exhibition of the Kazakhstan photographer Oleg Belyalov opened with the support of the Mitzvah Association of Jewish Organizations of Kazakhstan in Petropavlovsk (Kazakhstan). The photographer's work had been brought to the city in December, and had adorned both the Chanukah celebration and the 20th anniversary of Mitzvah. |

Jewish Community of Turkey Elects New President |

Presidential elections have taken place in the Jewish community of Turkey, which has observer status in the Euro-Asian Jewish Congress. Semi Herman has finished his three-year tour of duty as the head of the community, and the newly elected President is Isaak Ibrahimzade. The Vice Presidents are Josef Nassi and Gina Alkas, the Executive Vice President is Morsi Levi. |

The “Science is Interesting” Project |

On January 22, Kiev's Galytsian synagogue Beit Yakov hosted the first lecture of the experimental club for talented teenagers, organized by the educational center Midrasha Zionit. This project, intended for high schoolers, will have lectures talking about different branches of contemporary science, and why it is interesting to be a scientist, rather than boring. |
